(I do wonder if it's 18th or later though the edges to the back stretcher maybe feels too 'sharp' and not worn enough to be 17th or early 18th, although that stretcher could be a later replacement? The back of the chair and underneath does look and feel very old though, so maybe it is like the auction house says and just in really
