#4 - Life Gain and Damage Prevention - Weather the Storm, Moment's Peace, Prismatic Strands Another strong way to beat red decks is to simply put yourself in a position where they can't kill you, either by gaining a bunch of life via effects like Weather the Storm or by preventing damage via effects like Moment's Peace or Prismatic Strands
The deck can go two different ways, either a pure Assassin kindred deck or one that utilizes cards to give the Assassin creature type to other powerful creatures
Then theres rebound granted by cards like Ojer Pakpatiq, Deepest Epoch which helps you double spell easily
Once she makes me hate her, pain becomes irrelevant
Proponents of the Reserved List at the time took this as an affront to the spirit of the agreement, a loophole used to drum up perceived value of a supplementary release, like From the Vault, and syphon some of that profit from selling Reserved List cards
Now, Im not saying that you have to be that paranoid when youre kicking around your LGS at the end of the night and youve played with the half-dozen people in the room for years, but I will always follow this rule if Im in a new shop or hanging out at a major event
