Cask No. 48.117 16 – 20 years Exquisite whisky dessertCask No. 48. 117 Doughnut look back in anger Speyside, Spey Initial nosing suggested a richness and 'fatness' delightfully typical of this underrated distillery. Banana peel, lemon meringue pie, citrus curds, a hessian sack full of vanilla pods and some punchy, expensive olive oil. A little reduction brought out a more fragrant side of Turkish delight, Bakewell tart, dark chocolate and salted peanuts. The palate opened in a silky and inviting fashion.
