There're almost no wrong answers here, but there are tons of ways to make it your own, so play it your way and have a great time with it
Having realised I do in fact enjoy playing the deck, I decided to pick up a second Badlands (purchased right here, from Three for One!) so I could build the Black-Red version of the deck, which I believe is just strictly better (being able to flashback Faithless Looting is too important)

Part of the reason for the high price of the sale is that this 1st edition booster box of cards had a very low print run in 1999, before Wizards of the Coast produced multiple prints runs of the first edition set of cards
